Named after G. Fr. Hose [1838-1922], Bishop of Singapore [1881-1908] and collector of many plants.

Description
Tree. Stipules absent. Leaves tough leathery, alternate to whorled, simple, gland-dotted (black), penni-veined but venation barely visible, glabrous, margin very finely toothed. Flowers placed solitary in leaf axils. Fruits orange-red, berries with persistent calyx.
